Do you require a spray painter in Berkshire, Surrey, Sussex, London, Chelsea and South west London?
Here is a beautiful bespoke office display I spray painted and prepared for the very welcoming owners.
About the piece: The frame is made of tulip wood while the detailed back boards are mdf. The pre-finished internals and internal side walls are veneer with an oil finished oak base and Birch ply shelf sections. Designed, built and installed by a very talented carpenter and owner of AL Carpentry, Ashley.
From the very start of this project, I noticed that this cabinet has been very well made and upon meeting the family and chatting to the owners, I knew that the finest details will matter to create a wow factor so I wanted to leave the quality of the wood still showing through rather than leaving them with a flat slate look, which you would receive if the entire unit was made up of mdf. To gain a smooth surface whilst keeping the grain and quality of the wood took great care and was challenging but the outcome was a great success.
I’m very happy with this project and I am glad to say, after careful inspection everyone is more than happy. The doors are silky smooth with the beautiful grain and wood detail showing through whilst the mdf is super smooth which gives off a stunning sheen in the natural light.
Method: The tulip wood doors and frame plus the mdf back boards have all been sanded to a fine finish before receiving the primer coats. Before the top coat had been applied, I followed a method I have been using for around a decade, an old fashioned wet sand and buff method which gives a very unique surface, perfect for my top spec spray machine to work it’s magic.
Paint used: Primer: Tinted Hague blue “Haftprimer” by Caparol
Top coats: Benjamin Moore “Scuff-X” tinted to Hague Blue (Blue note)
Work top: Osmo oil
